Who are your sporting heroes and what do you admire the most about them?
Ma Long has been an athlete I’ve always looked up to. Even now, I still admire him and consider him as my sporting hero because of his good attitude and his strong fighting spirit.
Which coaching style do you think gets the best out of you?
I feel like I get the most out of coaches who have the passion and the eagerness to help players improve. Those who dedicate time and effort and provide their players with continuous support are the coaches I really benefit from.
On average, how many hours a day were you practicing before the lockdown?
Before lockdown, I would train for about 10-15 hours a week.
Do you do any specific training off the table? If so, which are the main exercises you do?
Off the table, I focus a lot on strength and conditioning to help keep me strong, stable and healthy when I’m training. I frequently go running, riding and complete physical exercises after training.
What are the main highlights in your Table Tennis journey so far?
Bronze medal at the 2017 ITTF World Hopes Week in Luxembourg. I was super proud of this achievement because I worked so hard to get that result. No one from Oceania has beaten this record.
Have you endured any injuries that you had to deal with?
I had a hip injury which forced me to sit out the game for 4 months.
Do you have a specific diet you have to follow, and are there any foods you don’t enjoy that you force yourself to eat?
No, not really. I’m not too strict on my diet but I try to balance it with bits of everything.

How do you balance studying with your Table Tennis?
I always try to use my time effectively and efficiently. I try to get some work done before going to training so I can free up my mind and give it 100% focus.
If you could achieve anything in Table Tennis, what would it be?
I would like to represent Australia at the Commonwealth games and Olympics and win a medal for the country.
What is the one thing you need to work on right now to improve the most?
I’m currently working quite a lot on my balance when playing backhand and moderating the speed and power when put in different situations. Having the control of my backhand is what needs to be improved in order to bring my game to the next level.
